From morning to night it is a magical trail, but our favorite times are 0800hrs and 1500hrs as the weather is less hot. Is the trail difficult? The 1968 Trail was a "moderate" hike and nice adventure through the lower portion of the Arenal volcano. We stayed at Volcano Lodge, and the trip from there was about 15 km or so.
