Valley of the Gods is an incredible 17 mile drive and well worth taking the time to do. The road surface is rough, graded gravel and clay, with many twists and turns. The drive through the sandstone valley is breathtaking at times and the formations are impressive. There are many places where campers can pull over.The best time to view Monument Valley and The Mittens is mid-day to sunset.
